Vanja Salamandic is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) who holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She has experience working across government, private, and forensic settings, supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and across a broad range of clinical presentations.
Her areas of interest and experience include anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, self-esteem concerns, interpersonal challenges, personality-related difficulties, trauma, and cognitive assessment. She is committed to providing evidence-based, person-centred care that recognises the individuality of each client and supports them in developing insight, resilience, and meaningful change.
Vanja adopts a warm, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic style, with a strong focus on creating a safe and respectful environment where clients feel understood and supported. She values culturally responsive practice and works sensitively with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. In addition to English, she is fluent in Serbian, Bosnian, and Croatian.
In her clinical work, Vanja Salamandic regularly integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), drawing on these evidence-based approaches to help clients build practical coping strategies, improve psychological flexibility, and work toward their personal goals and values. Her practice is also informed by elements of Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy-informed skills, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, and Trauma-Informed Care, allowing her to tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs, experiences, and therapeutic goals.
