Our practitioners have been providing the highest quality, evidence-based care for the last 25 years initially as the Spinal Management Clinics (SMC) group and since 2014 Advance Healthcare.
Dr Jon Ford (PhD, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist) was one of the first physiotherapists to develop comprehensive treatment programs in accordance with the best available evidence and the biopsychosocial approach. Charles Ruddock (Clinical Psychologist) joined the group in 2005 and together with Jon developed a passionate and committed multi-disciplinary team of physiotherapists, pain doctors, psychologists and podiatrists
The services at Advance Healthcare include:
Multi-disciplinary pain management for private and compensable patients
Sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy with many of our practitioners having a research and clinical interest in complex and persistent low back pain
Psychology services for private and compensable patients
Many of the Advance Healthcare team are involved in the La Trobe University Low Back Research Team where Jon is also the head of the Low Back Research Team. Our university connections ensure our practitioners remain up to date with the latest research evidence.
