Slade is a registered psychologist with extensive experience working across the educational, community and public health, and private inpatient hospital settings. He has worked individually and as part of multidisciplinary teams offering psychological assessment and counselling to people across the lifespan in individual and group formats. To further his knowledge of sleep and its relationship to chronic pain, Slade has completed additional training through the University of Michigan, which focused on investigating the neurobiological underpinnings and treatments for sleep-related disorders.
Slade uses an eclectic treatment approach in his work with clients drawing from various evidence-based therapies, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). His therapeutic style is warm and collaborative, and he endeavours to form good working relationships with his clients to facilitate positive long-term treatment outcomes. In addition to his role at Advance Healthcare, Slade is currently employed by the Department of Education, where he provides a broad range of services to teachers, students and parents.
Slade has been working with Advance since 2022.
