Jack Mao

Physiotherapist

BPhysio(Hons)

Clinic: Hoppers Crossing

Jack is a physiotherapist with experience working in private practice and has a strong interest in persistent and complex pain management. He is passionate about understanding the individual factors that contribute to a person’s pain and recovery, and believes that effective rehabilitation should look beyond physical symptoms alone.

Jack has a particular clinical interest in the role of psychology, sleep, stress, lifestyle and other contextual factors in the experience of pain. He is interested in developing a deeper understanding of how these factors interact with physical health and how they can play into individualised, evidence-based rehabilitation.

Jack has a background in musculoskeletal/neurological physiotherapy and enjoys working with patients to improve their confidence, physical capacity and ability to return to the activities that are meaningful to them. Other than persistent pain, he also has a strong interest in exercise and strength and conditioning, and believes movement and education are important components of rehabilitation.

Outside of the clinic, Jack enjoys playing basketball, watching the AFL, strength training and maintaining an active lifestyle. He also has a keen interest in sports, exercise and learning more about the factors that influence health and performance like nutrition.

Jack also speaks Mandarin fluently, able to communicate clinically in Mandarin.
