Amutha is a consultant anaesthetist who is undertaking further training in pain medicine. Amutha graduated from the University of Sydney in 1998 and completed her anaesthetic training in 2005. She has been practicing as an anaesthetist in Geelong since 2006. Amutha was inspired to undertake further training in pain medicine to respond to the increasing needs of the community for specialist services in pain medicine. She has worked at the Pain Management Unit at Barwon Health (Geelong) and Pain Matrix (Geelong) from 2017-2019. The collaborative approach of a multidisciplinary team in a patient-centered model of care has been the most engaging aspect of pain medicine for her. She has a special interest in persistent post-surgical pain.
