Advance Healthcare joins ePPOC

Our group is dedicated to providing the best available treatment to patients.  In addition to the STOPS trial on physiotherapy we are also interested in evaluating our outcomes for people having multi-disciplinary pain management.  We therefore recently joined ePPOC (electronic Persistent Pain Outcomes Collaboration) which is a new program aiming to benchmark the care of patients with persistent pain having multi-disciplinary management.  ePPOC is an initiative of the Faculty of Pain Medicine which has been developed with the input from Jon Ford (Advance Clinical Director and member of the ePPOC Scientific and Clinical Advisory Committee).

ePPOC involves the collection of a standard set of data items and assessment tools by specialist pain services throughout Australia and New Zealand to measure outcomes for their patients as a result of treatment. This information will be used to develop a national benchmarking system for the pain sector, which will lead to better outcomes and best practice interventions for patients in chronic pain. The information will also enable development of a coordinated approach to research into the management of pain in Australasia.
Through ePPOC we look forward to further improving the multi-disciplinary pain management services provided by Advance Healthcare to our patients!
